A List Is All I’ve Got To Give

1. The “Project Runway” season finale is (not) tonight (I stand corrected – it’s next week), and my excitement knows no bounds. I guess that’s not saying a whole lot, because I’m a person who gets excited about, say, a new brand of salad dressing, so you’ll just have to trust me when I tell you that I regard tonight as a Television Event (even if it’s not the finale, it’s still an Event), and as such I made a celebratory pot of chili because if there’s one thing fashion designers love, it’s chili.

Okay. Maybe not.

But still.

2. Today’s “Oprah” segment about life in North Korea was shocking to me. Shocking. Good grief I live in a bubble.

3. I’m really behind on email again. If you’ve sent me a note in the last week or so and I haven’t answered you, please forgive me…but the house stuff and the work stuff and the all-Alex-all-the-time stuff have left me precious little time for the email stuff. I’m in the process of trying to catch up.

4. Last night? On “Dancing With The Stars”? How adorable was Emmitt Smith?

So adorable. BEYOND adorable, in fact.

I love him.

5. This afternoon when I picked up Alex from Mother’s Day Out (his very favorite place in the whole wide world with the exception of The Coke And Donut Palace, also known as my parents’ house), I got him all settled in the back seat and cranked the car.

We had just started out of the parking lot when he said, “Mama? I missed you!”

I’ll pause for a moment so that you can wipe away the tears. And then say, “Awwww.”

Seriously, I double dog dare you to try to be in a bad mood one little teensy bit when a three year old says those words to you.

It’s just not possible.

  1. Isn’t Project Runway a two-part finale?? I can’t wait, either! Go, Michael!

My little one says, “Mommy, I like you!” It melts my heart.

  2. I’d like to put Emmitt in my pocket and carry him around. He is THAT cute and I love him. :)

  3. Don’t watch either show. . .totally agree about the three year old. . .and have you every tried Newman’s Own Creamy Ceasar dressing? It’s so good it’ll make you slap the lady at the Coke ‘n Donut Place–

  4. In the dictionary, next to “adorable,” there is Emmitt Smith’s picture. ;)

Jerry Springer’s picture is next to “skeevy” but also “oddly endearing” (never mind that “oddly endearing” isn’t actually in the dictionary like that).

  5. Hi Boomama!

Love reading your sight. Now that we’ve located the computer down in the dungeon (aka guest bedroom) I’m not able to blog or read blogs as much as I like. And yours is great! Always.

    Can’t talk T.V.–Don’t have one.

Am going to come back to see what comes of the Bible study remarks.

Still haven’t finished my last responses on your made-me-really think-post (long time ago). Is now added to my things to complete list (a list that is not shrinking).

Anyway, it is a bummer when the “second shift” (dad) doesn’t show up at 6:00 as he is supposed to. Every day.

Good luck selling the house. I’ve been there.

Caleb STILL wears his Spiderman costume from last year. They don’t celebrate Halloween over here so there goes my opportunity to at least change Super heroes. The really bad part is that without Halloween and Thanksgiving there is nothing to sort of keep the Christmas paraphanalia(sp?) at bay. It is already here. In full force.

Okay, gotta go. Again, love reading your sight.

  6. Wait til your teenager says those words. What? It could happen. ;-)

  7. Awwwwww. Sniff, sniff. Really.

  8. Cute, cute, cute. Words like that is what keep me going!

  9. Now that Reia is older (ha ha, she’s 4) she is constantly telling me that she loves me forty two hundred thousand billion, or all the way to Phoenix, Kenya, Australia, Heaven and back. I just want to squeeze until she gushes it makes me so tickled.

(Not sure where she came up with Kenya, but we have friends who live in Phoenix and Aust. Since I keep telling her how far away they are it seems pretty reasonable to her that she loves me all the way there…and back.)

  10. Tivo’d the Oprah on NK, plan to watch it tomorrow. Very creepy stuff going on there.

  11. i wish i got to watch Project Runway more. i like it – i need to tape it sometimes. I only get to watch TV late at night.

wish i had scene that Oprah!

  12. BooMama–

I consider myself an educated and informed American. I knew N. Korea was a communist country and not a fun place to live, but I had NO IDEA either! I was shocked after I watched Oprah. I figure that if I am ignorant to it, then what is the average American know about North Korea…???

  13. Awwwwww! That was so sweet of Alex.

  14. WAAAAAA, I WANT MY KIDS TO BE LITTLE AGAIN!!!!!

    They’re 26, 26 and 24 years old now.

  15. You’re hillarious! What should I think when my 4 year old says, “I love you a lot. I hate you a little bit.” Seriously! He says this, and with a smile nonetheless! HA!

I live in a bubble too….i like it there. it’s comfortable and warm and not at all scary.

  16. I couldn’t believe Laura did that last night on Project Runway…I was rooting for Michael but I’ll need to see the finale show…I’m kinda nervous about his collection. Yea!! Pins and Needles until next week.

  17. #5 is very sweet!!

  18. Well, Jeffery can’t be ALL bad – he’s sober. Him telling about getting sober was great and he loves his little boy.

I think Jeffery’s gonna win even though I don’t love his designs the best (Michael.)

  19. But what if the sweet three year old says that after using his math manipulatives to carve 8 inch long grooves in your newly-refinished kitchen table? Could you still be in a bad mood, then?

Because if you can’t, then I’m going to start calling you Saint BooMama.

And I am SO glad to see that you’re not emailing, either; I just realized this morning I haven’t emailed you back! It’s this house on the market madness. It’ll suck the life out of you!
