No AI blogging from me tonight – just don’t have it in me, to be honest. But if you blogged about it and want to add your post to the Mr. Linky, link away, my friends. And if you have any thoughts about tonight’s show, I’d love to read them in the comments!
AI – Top 8
10 April 2007 by
It wasn’t that exciting for me. I did love Blake and Melinda was cute, as always.
Kelli
Nope, not my kind of music. I will say that I disagreed with the judges on Sanjaya. I declare, I think he gets WORSE every week!
This season has been pretty boring. By this stage, everyone should be in their game. These are supposed to be the best of the best. I predict the top 3 will be Jordin, Blake and Chris, although, I love Melinda and Lakisha.
Bring back last year. Or heck any year. Chris and Blake were my fave tonight.
LOVED and VOTED for Blake, Chris, and Jordin.
I think the bottom 3 are most definitely Phil, Haley, and Sanjaya. The 3 of them are just not like the rest………
Well, I finally got so sit through a whole AI show tonight…I now realize I haven’t been missing too much. I miss last year…and the year before…Why do they think that dressing so LOW and so SHORT works? Oh, and the moving…I think the girls would have done better if they stayed in relatively the same place! AHH! They were out of breath. So sad, so sad Band was good…
No one blew me away tonight. I must confess though that I love Phil. Just that whole family man thing — seems like a gentle soul. I still miss Carrie Underwood. Any Carrie’s out there?
My dear hubby who just watches in passing and supports us while we watch said that it is a boring season. It is funny to see hailey’s skirt and/or shorts getting shorter every week. What next bathing suit? Melinda is the best – great singing and modest clothing. I loved her dress.
I really think Hailey needs to go. I am irriated by the fact that she will not put on any clothes. She does seem to think that her body will carry her through this competition. Simon said a mouthful when he told her that her strategy was to wear as little as possible. On the other hand, I really appreciate Melinda’s modesty.
I wasn’t that happy with tonight at all. I really enjoyed Blake and feel he was the best of the night. I was VERY creeped out by Sanjaya. I mean, what was that look he kept giving the camera. Blah!
I don’t know why but I just can’t seem to get into this season.
Aw Man, I always love you take on it better than just watching the show each week! I guess there’s always next week, huh?
I think it is a very boring season as well. I am just not able to get into the performances. Some are better than others, yet they (just my opinion) don’t seem to have the idol vibe. Gina was someone who I think was cut out for the business and could have handled that whole side well, even though I still don’t think she was the best singer. I also think Haley acts like she doesn’t like Simon’s comments on how she looks, yet the next week she is wearing something just as skimpy! Hmmm….. I remember past seasons being nervous about who was going to go and really rooting for a couple of people….. not this time.
Well, there’s my 1/2 a cents worth!
I think Simon was right – Melinda looked like a middle-aged woman tonight (not bad…IF you’re actually middle-aged!). Everyone else was pretty blah, blah, blah. Jordin was cute, Blake was GREAT (I accidentally said “yum” out loud, making my teenage daughter giggle), and Sanjaya certainly was creepy. Love how Ryan teased him about it. I really think Haley should go – I for one am sick of her “strategy” (as Simon put it).
As usual, Melinda sang fabulously – for once I disagreed with Simon! I thought she looked sexy, sounded fabulous and had great presence. And her comment to Simon cracked me up!!! I still say she has shown the most promise from the start and has gotten better and better each step of the way.
Blake had the best performance overall, believe it or not. The song was perfect for him. Of course he didn’t sound like an original; he sounded exactly like Marc Anthony – and we already have one of him around.
LaKisha needs to QUIT WEARING DRESSES LIKE SHE HAD ON LAST NIGHT. Boobs hanging out and she looked like she had two pigs fighting under her dress. And her performance didn’t impress me either.
Jordin – do not wear what you wore last night. You need to be in dresses and outfits that do not elongate your torso. And really, your performance was dull, uninspiring and flat. I was sorely disappointed.
Phil – you’ve got to pull it together buddy. I thought your performance was okay, but not note-worthy.
Chris – I think you have oomph, but you’re too nasally for my taste. And yes, you pale in comparison with any girl performing – except Haley.
Haley – go home.
Sanjaya – although I was actually just okay with your performance, you still pale in comparison to everybody. My 5th grader could and does out-sing you. And I found it funny that my son started yelling at the tv, “Do not clap for him… he sang horribly!” Even my 7 year old can tell talent from crap.
When you’re praying for moms fighting cancer, it’s hard to get excited about American Idol. I’m sure the contestants would disagree, but it seems so irrelevent in the scheme of things. I watched, but I’m just not into it anymore, Amazing Race is the same. I wish they’d just eliminate everyone but the winner next week! This may be my last season of Reality TV. Life is too short to remain hooked.
I wasn’t too impressed with Melinda, I thought the song was all wrong for her. I did however enjoy watch JLo work with them. She seems nice.
Blake is the best!
I’m so happy to have found other AI fans. Thus far, my DH and I are rooting for Melinda, and Blake as second.
On Melinda’s song and black dress from Tueday, it reminded me of the movie, Shall We Dance? I thought the dress was very appropriate, especially if you watched the movie. I liked the dress much better than the previous week.
Phil – he seems so humble and thankful. While he’s not the very best singer, we still really like him. Go US Navy!
Poor Sanjaya I believe should go home.
