The Big Boo Cast, Episode 7

Is it just me, or does that title sound like a Star Wars movie?

Anyhoo.

What you’ve got here in episode 7 is a SUPER-SIZED podcast, a combination of the one we recorded right before Thanksgiving and the one we recorded a couple of days ago. Which means there is nothing even remotely resembling narrative structure. But then again, we never really had that before, even when we tried. So you should feel right at home.

And what topics do we cover? Well, we spend a lengthy amount of time discussing Big Mama’s hair (seriously, it is a WONDER – I’m thinking of erecting a memorial stone in its honor because it is a testimony to God’s love and faithfulness), various and sundry perfumes we have worn through the years, recent college football coaching changes (OH, WE CAN’T HELP IT), Big Mama and Gulley’s annual Christmas shopping extravaganza and last but not least, how much weight we gained when we were pregnant.

Or in Melanie’s case: how much “weight” she “gained” when she was pregnant.

Not to mention that Alex reminds Melanie that he knows how to shake his bootie.

He is his mama’s child.

  1. Jeannette says:

I can’t listen to the pod cast. So I need to ask, is this the way you are telling us that you are both pregnant or are you talking about weight gain with Howard?
Did any other internetters think the same thing?
I have been discovering Gods faithfullness also. Isn’t He wonderful?

  2. Listening to it now. It is working on my computer. Ya’ll just left perfumes and to Julia, but I wanted to inject a suggestion for perfume. Next time you go to a Dept. Store try GIO by Giorgio Armani, it is fresh and clean and makes me so happy. You might be interested that I read in a magazine last year that Michelle Pheiffer (sp?) wears it too. My husband bought it for me for Christmas 2 years ago and I still love it.

  3. Oh, I know exactly what you mean, even without listening! First, there’s the actual pregnancy weight gain. Then, there’s the “I’m awake at 2 AM with the baby and I’m hungry so I’ll get a pop tart, oh look, now it’s 4 AM and I’m awake AGAIN and hungry AGAIN so I’ll have some crackers” weight gain.

    GainS. Yep. One kid.

  4. I would like to mention the Liz Claiborne perfume that played a critical role in my junior high experience. Love those primary-colored triangular bottles.

As for questions…maybe y’all could combine two of your greatest loves, college football and food (in no particular order, of course) and discuss possible snacking options for watching the Very Important and Numerous Bowl Games.

I’m gonna go make some queso while you think about it.

  5. Hi BooMama! just listened to your podcast (or whatever it is called!) – sounds like you girls were having great fun! I’ve seen that lots of other Christian moms read your blog regularly, so thought I’d better check you out. Mamas need the kind of encourgement and entertainment that you are bringing to the blogosphere, so keep up the good work. Nina

  6. Funny thing…I was in the office trying to finish my filing job and listening to y’all, when Chris came in smiling and sat down to listen. He said it’s like listening in to someone’s conversation at the hair salon, isn’t it? I thought that very appropriate…and fun, too.

Thanks for coming along side me in my work today. You both made me smile!
    Blessings,
    Holly

  7. BooMama – – – were you watching college football tonight!?! #1 and #2 both knocked off their pedestals. LSU beat Tennessee. NOW who will play in the championship bowl in January????

    THIS IS FUN STUFF, KIDS!!!!!

  8. I can’t get it to play :( Boo Hoo

  9. this is very “beauty shop” material, i LOVE it. this is the first one I have listened to, its like im there, or maybe i just wish I were, its like being back at home for sure with that southern voice! and what was the dang perfume that smelled like vanill? heck maybe it was called vanilla, anyway i gag at the smell now, i thought it was so “cool” to wear it when I was in school.

  10. Loved it! Can I just say that my heart melts a little each time your sweet son said “yes ma’am”.
