Crystal Light Challenge – Day 2

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

This morning I got home from dropping off my little boy at Vacation Bible School, and even though everything in me was screaming for some ice cold caffeine, I replaced my usual mid-morning diet Coke with Crystal Light lemonade. I was a little bit hesitant, because I really do think I’m more dependent on that 10AM-ish diet Coke than I am on my early morning coffee.

But do you know what? I lived.

Now granted, I missed the fizz a little bit, but the lemonade was totally refreshing – especially on this hot day. I also realized that I was REALLY thirsty and so I had a second glass, something I wouldn’t normally do with diet Coke because I feel a little guilty about the back-to-back mid-morning caffeine consumption.

What about y’all? What’s your go-to drink? Do you think you drink enough water?

  1. i surely don’t drink nearly enough water – because I only drink diet coke. And sometimes I drink ridiculous amounts of it – so maybe I should try this too! :-) Actually, I do already drink crystal light often when i need something that is NOT diet coke (I dont like water – so bland) . . .

  2. I never thought I would say this, but I miss breast feeding, because it made me crave water. I love water and mostly only drink water, but I still don’t drink enough. Have you ever tried drinking water with lots of ice? I like anything I drink to be REALLY cold, so I usually use an entire ice cube tray of ice in a big plastic cup with water. It’s yummy. No, seriously.

  3. When I’m home, ALL I drink is water. As soon as the glass is empty, I refill it. Been doing this for the last several years. When eating out, I sometimes like to have a Coke, root beer, or an occasional Dr. Pepper.

Now, my DH drinks 3 or 4 or 5 Coke Zero’s during the day at work. At home, he likes a mixed drink: ginger ale and crangrape juice. :-)

  4. I’m a water drinker. Big Diet Coke habit in college though. Thankfully, I got myself off it as soon as the last final was taken! Unfortunately, the damage was done. Did you know it can take 5 years for the cavities to develop? Yep…3 years later I had 10 cavities! I rarely drink soda anymore. Otherwise..it’s plain old water. I have lots of Crystal light, just usually forget to use it.

  5. Courtney says:

I am addicted to Coke. Mind you, not Diet Coke, but the sugary, loaded-with-calories, regular kind. I definitely need to join you in this challenge. Hey, I finished The Shred last week, so I might as well keep on reforming myself!
