Linky Dinky Doo

My friend Elise – who, for the record, is one of my favorite people IN THE UNIVERSE – is staying with us tonight, so I haven’t written a “real” blog post because I’ve been way too busy holding my sides while I laugh until I hurt. Her boys are here, too, and it’s been so fun to hang out and visit and enjoy all the aforementioned laughing. We just love ’em all to pieces.

Anyway, I do have a few links I want to share, and I’ll be back with the regular mediocrity sometime tomorrow. Also on my agenda for tomorrow? A fresh round of highlights and a haircut. Because I don’t mind saying that my hair is BROKE DOWN right now and in dire need of professional help.

Oh! Before I forget: I LOVED your suggestions for TV marathons. I don’t know when I’ve felt more inspired in terms of my TV marathon planning. So thank you, Internet, for being so very helpful.

All righty. Links.

– The Samsung Power Foam Sweepstakes is still up and running. The prize? A $100 Best Buy gift card.

– Sweet Marla Taviano has written an e-book called The Husband’s Guide To Getting Lucky: Six Simple Steps to Great Sex With Your Wife. It’s only $4.99, and you can download a PDF or buy a copy formatted for Kindle, Nook or iPad. Full disclosure: I haven’t read the whole book yet, but what I have read is honest, frank and challenging. For more information about the e-book, just look here.

– A couple of weeks ago I made Ina Garten’s Scalloped Tomatoes as a side dish. THEY ARE DELICIOUS. So fresh and summer-y and good.

– This past Christmas my friend Cynthia gave me a bottle of Philosophy face wash called (fancy name, huh?). I didn’t start using it until I’d finished using my previous cleanser, but Y’ALL. This stuff is so good. I normally have a hard time using anything that’s exfoliating because I have super-sensitive skin, but this cleanser is really gentle. I use it every day and am completely smitten with it. Such a fan, I am.

Hope y’all have a great Thursday!

Awww…is Elise the sweet friend who lost her husband unexpectedly in that freak golf cart accident? I still think of her from time to time when I am remembering just how fragile life really is. God bless her and her boys. I hope God is continuing to heal their broken hearts.

LOVE the philosophy microdelivery wash!! Although I’m currently on the”‘poor girl’s version” which is target’s brand of cetaphil with a little sprinkle of baking soda. I like this version because I can control the amount of exfoliating by controlling the size of my baking soda sprinkle. But if I could, I’d use the philosophy microdelivery every morning & their purity wash every evening. Their shower gels are also divine!

  3. I have been using the SAME face wash, and, sister, I can TOTALLY tell a difference in my skin now! I bought myself a 32 ounce bottle that I keep in my shower, and LOVE. IT. Their perfumes (Amazing Grace, Philosophy the Scent, Falling in Love, which smells like blackberries…OHSOWONDERFUL!!!) are also my faves.

  4. For the record Ina Garten/ Barefoot Contessa is my favorite of all celebrity chefs. Philosophy has some truly awesome products.

  5. Enjoy your day -nothing like laughter with sweet friends.
Oh and highlights. .a fresh set of highlights can change your whole outlook on life -at least it can for me, because yes, I am that shallow.

  6. I am going to have to try the tomato recipe. My family loooooves tomatoes. But I have to admit, I had to look up what boule meant. Found out it’s just a fancy shamcy word for round. Who woulda thought. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Thanks for the linky love, friend. YOU are the sweet one. Can’t wait to hear what DaddyOfBoo thinks of the book.

Yay! I just ordered the big bottles of philosophy exfoliating wash and purity Monday when they were on 5 payments from QVC and they shipped today. Ive been using the purity for a few weeks and love it. I’m even more excited to get them now that I have your seal of approval!

  9. Thanks for the recommendation on Philosophy face wash. I have extremely sensitive skin as well and am always looking for good cleansers that won’t burn my face. (Metholatum under my nose when I have a cold will even cause me to develop a fever blister under my nose – and girl, that’s not a pretty site! Such a shame because I love the stuff.)

Thanks for filling in the blank on the orange door. I bet it will look great. My back deck is a dark orangeish/redwood stain, an it looks great against the backdrop of the dark green leaves in the woods behind the house. Good luck!
