The Big Boo Cast, Episode 65

So Melanie and I were on the Skype a little earlier than normal for this particular episode, and before we started recording I was somewhat concerned because Melanie could not stop yawning (to be fair, she was completely un-caffeinated at the time). However, I have to say that she pulled through like a non-yawning champ, so KUDOS TO HER.

For the first 30-ish minutes it’s podcast business as usual; we answer a few questions from y’all and talk about ribs and SEC Nation and why I love my hair dryer. And then, in the last half hour, Beth Moore joins us, and if that doesn’t put a little pep in your podcasting step, then I don’t know what will. But I think hearing Beth’s story about wearing plastic pants to a Living Proof Live will help.

It was seriously one of our all-time favorite mornings – a total blast. We hope you get a kick out of it, too.

You can click here to listen. Or here. You can even listen right here on the blog.

Or, as always, you can subscribe on iTunes if you’re feeling particularly fancy.

  5. Renee Wheeler says:

Plastic pants? Oh my word!! Funny, funny story. I love hearing 2 of you giggle together and adding the 3rd giggle was so fun. Thank you for the Friday fun.

  6. Karina Tuazon says:

You girls! All my love to you as I crack my head up!! Thanks for being real and for lovin Jesus at the same time. Now, I really do need to see how great Beth’s hair is looking AND I also need to see the whole plastic pants thing. Pretty please?
Can’t wait to read Beth’s new book! Thank you!!

  7. I’ve only listened to the first half of the podcast and I can’t wait to hear your review of the AMP roller! I have seen the before and afters over and over on FB,
so tempted to try it myself.

  8. Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for the laughter this morning. It’s no harm to say that laughter is contagious because hearing you guys, just gets me started ;)

And…Ms. Beth, too! Well, that was just the icing on the cake – all three of you together was absolutely delightful.

If any listeners are Canadian (I’m included) – I’m from St. John’s, Newfoundland – pretty much as far east as you can go before “jumping the pond” to England. If you’re interested in the Rodan + Fields products, that includes the AMP Roller – I’m your go-to girl!

    Here’s my website:
I’m also on Facebook, just search April Anstey

Looking forward to the next podcast @BigMama and @BooMama – it’s like opening a surprise pack – you never know what you’re gonna get! Love every minute – God Bless!

  9. I have so much to say.

    A) BEST PODCAST EVER. It was like a combo platter at your favorite Mexican restaurant with a side of the best guac ever.
    2) I knew you all “knew” Miss Beth, but I didn’t know you “knew” her. If I was regularly texting with her, I’d be bragging about it every other day on my blog, FB, Twitter, etc. (Hmmm, I guess that’s why I’m not friends with her :)). Anyway, you’ve handled it so well. And the sweet “outtake” at the end? When you both expressed the “Wow, did that just happen?” I almost cried. Okay. I did cry.
iii) Aren’t you glad the book is good? (Whew!)
Four) When did Melanie’s husband get shot in a helicopter? Please elaborate in a clear and concise manner.
    V) Thanks for the best Saturday morning ever. I’m going to have to listen to this one again.

  10. This was so much fun to listen to! I’m excited about reading Beth’s new book. I just heard about it and it sounds so interesting. I love my AMP MD roller! I’ve been using it for over 2 years with great results. The Unblemish line has been the first thing to clear up my acne too. It’s no fun being over 35 and still having acne. :( Can’t wait for the next podcast!

  11. Michelle Jeffcoat says:

Well! I’m laughing BECAUSE I was listening to ‘home is where your people are’ on my way from B’ham to Nashville this weekend – and then finished it on the way back home to Bham. It was a random choice for me – didn’t know anything about ya’ll! But so enjoyed with the book and identified with it – that I looked up Sophie – and found the podcast. Listening right now – and learned that Sophie was also in Nashville this weekend at the dot com thing. We could totally have carpooled! I was at Samford when you were at State – and everything you described about your college experience was so familiar. Down to the tanning bed. Loved it. New fan. Excited to have ya’ll in my life!

  12. I enjoyed this podcast so much! I really like the outtakes at the end of the last two podcasts, by the way. :)

  13. Oh, this was such a treat! I always love listening to your podcasts but this one was just extra-special! It made me so happy and I didn’t want it to end!

I spent the first year of my marriage (24 years ago) in Boaz, Alabama so I know the Guntersville/Albertville area pretty well. So neat that you visted there!

  14. Oh Sophie just the fall my dad age 67 had the eye lids surgery you mom did and I told him the same words I hope I this is a health issue I can inherit.

There are just some many things about Mel, you and I have in common. Mid 40’s, one child growing way to fast. That I am sure we would be best friends.

  15. I cannot believe you BOTH were here in my town of Guntersville. I so wish I could have seen y’all. Thanks for saying sweet things about this town I love.

  16. Hey there from Nashville! Can I just say y’all are my people!?! My heart melted with laughter! Looking forward to more.

    Until then,
    Tish Mosley

  17. Hummingbird Farms are spectacular! Seriously I drank the ” cool aide” you and Melanie poured and it turned out to be Champage!! Honestly I am so happy I did it turns out their customer service is exceptional and the lotions even better! I seriously have tried them all, from drugstore to extreamly expensive ( as in several $100’s for 4 0z. ) and never had a lotion come even close to being this good. I am so happy with it I just ordered some more lotion to give to friends. You might think it’s crazy to get so excited about great lotion but when you live in NH the dry cold winters are not skin friendly! Thank you and I hope you are enjoying this busy but fun time as a parent –

  18. I too would like to know the story about “when Perry shot himself in the head falling out of a helicopter” – this is something!

I used R&F Reverse. I definitely saw improvement, for sure. But I don’t wash my face twice a day (and you need to with that regimen), so improvement was slow. Eventually I just went to the derm for an IPL treatment and SHAZAAM, spots and capillaries were gone with just 30 minutes of treatment and one week’s time (vs. months of twice daily treatments). No peeling, no downtime. Can’t recommend it enough.
