The Big Boo Cast, Episode 216

Lo, it is our last episode of 2020, and right out of the gate Melanie comes in strong by sharing catchphrase she’s heard for 2021. I have a feeling that this episode won’t be the last time we reference it. Besides the catchphrase fun, we talk about our respective Christmases, my deep affection for a new year, and we also discuss what three product discoveries from 2020 we plan to carry with us into 2021.

Oh! And I share a recipe for an easy dip I made on Christmas day, plus we discuss the challenges of new technology at this stage of life, and Melanie shares her five favorites.

Enjoy, y’all!

  1. Chrissy Miller says:

Ok I had to stop everything and tell you that siri on your iPhone does all of the lists, reminders and alarms. You can talk anything to her…Text, emails the list goes on and on!!

I’ll be back for my top 3 I am taking with me into twenty-twenty fun 🤩

  2. I play my podcasts on my alexa and let me tell you that poor girl didn’t know what to do every time Melanie said Alexa, at one point it stopped the podcast and started playing Taylor Swift! 🤣

  3. Holly Hurst says:

I listened to the podcast a few days ago, and when I went in the kitchen that afternoon the kitchen Alexa had apparently been playing Taylor Swift all day :) Too funny.

  4. Oatmeal mentioned on podcast was peanut butter, blueberries & walnuts? correct? What brand of oatmeal did you use, please?

have you tried A Couple Cooks baked oatmeal recipes yet? They have a couple versions, one of them is here:

  5. We have had Cuisinart coffee makers for over a decade, and also upgraded to the coffee center last July (we had a carafe coffee maker plus a Keurig on the countertop and I wanted to reclaim some space). We realized RIGHT AWAY that the Cuisinart does NOT like off brand pods. We had a huge box of Sam’s Club brand k-cups (Members Mark) and almost every single one of those exploded in the Cuisinart, so please be careful trying any store brand or non-Keurig k-cups. Every Green Mountain that we have used since has been fine, but boy oh boy, the store brands make a horrific mess that took us 20 minutes to clean up :( Enjoy the podcasts! Happy 2020-Fun!

  6. This podcast is full of so much goodness, LOL! Melanie (and Sophie), we’ve had Amazon Echos for several years and my favorite is definite the Echo Show, because they play videos and put song lyrics on the screen, among other things. Oh, and if Melanie wants to talk from her bathroom to her husband in another room, use the Drop-In feature – it’s like a free intercom system :)
