Love Is In The Interweb Air, Oh Yes Ma’am It Is

I got an email today from Susie, who most of y’all know is a mighty talented blog designer. She is also, as it turns out, incredibly generous – and she’s cooked up a special design deal to help raise money for Kelli.

From January 11 (that’s tomorrow!) until January 21, Susie is going to donate 20% of every blog design order she receives to Kelli and her family. You can see all the details here, but the bottom line is that if you’ve been wanting a blog redesign – or if someone you know wants a redesign – this is the perfect chance to spruce things up in your corner of blogland AND help Kelli at the same time. Right now Susie has a six to eight week turnaround on design orders, but as long as you place your order within that 10 day window, she’ll donate 20% of the cost.

In her email to me, Susie said, “I just really feel a need to raise some money for [Kelli] and her family in whatever way possible…and since He has given me the opportunity to be able to create blog designs, I am compelled to share that gift with others, especially others in need.”

Which, you know, TOTALLY rocks.

And I know I mentioned this briefly yesterday, but I want to give sweet Shannon a HUGE thank-you for creating the “For Kelli” blog button. I emailed Shannon late Sunday night to see if she’d help me out (I’m not a very strong blog button creator – well, unless you prefer them to be blurry and unreadable, in which case I’m your girl). And in typical Shannon fashion, she sent me not one but TWO buttons first thing Monday morning. And she didn’t make me sing the Arkansas fight song as payment or anything. I officially owe her one. Or two, as it were.

Also, thanks to those of you who have already linked to my post from yesterday – I appreciate it more than you know. And if you’ve emailed me or commented to ask for the blog button code, I’ll email that to you tonight or tomorrow morning.

Finally: thanks so much for all of your sweet comments and emails today. I have been humbled and encouraged and a little embarrassed, to tell you the truth (could it be? has the interweb made me shy?). But the bottom line is that I am tickled to death that so many of you are so willing to help Kelli and her family.

I’ve thought on and off all afternoon about a phrase our pastor often uses: “…let us do this in such a way that only God gets the glory.” That’s exactly how I feel; I want to keep Psalm 115:1 at the very center of this little bloggy endeavor. And with that said, I’m hoping to crawl back behind the scenes right now, JUST WHERE I LIKE IT.

Okay. I think that about covers it. Except for one more thing:

Y’all are the awesomest. internets. ever.

No doubt about it.

See y’all tomorrow.

  3. Susie’s “all the details here” link isn’t working for me…hmmm. But, wonderful idea!

Thank you for letting me know! It’s all fixed now.

  4. I love what you’re doing for Kelli, BooMama! You’re good people.

  5. Rocks in my Dryer says:

What, you missed the part of our contract where you have to call the Hogs for all the Internet to hear?

Altogether now, Boo, “WOOOOOOOOO, pig sooie!” ;)

    Seriously, it was my pleasure.

  6. Susie is great.

    God is Awesome.

Looks like He has already begun a GREAT WORK!

(I would like the button as well, when you get a moment.)

  7. I haven’t been around much lately so I don’t really know what’s going on. I’m going to check out her blog and see what’s happening. I’m willing to help any way I can!

  8. Well, we think you are pretty awesome too. I am going to try and call you today, so be prepared to let the machine get it if you don’t feel like chatting.

  9. This is a great idea! I am a new blogger and was planning to contact Susie soon. Now I will know that I will be getting a new blog and some of the money will go to a very good cause. Thanks BooMama and Susie!

  10. Well, thank you, Boo Mama. “Sweet Internet” is the nicest thing anyone’s ever called me! This response doesn’t surprise me at all. We see everyone come together to help someone a lot out here.

There’s something so special about Kelli, I’m as excited as I can be about this. It was a privilege to post your fund raiser on my blog.

And I’m thinking there aren’t a lot of people out here who would call you shy.

    :-)

  11. BooMama,
I have spent the past 30 minutes catching up on your site. I wanted to tell you that you make me laugh, and feel rather good when I read your posts! I needed to laugh today, and thanks to you, I now have a big grin on my face, and can go back to my duties with a lighter heart! Thank you!
