Three Things

1) If you emailed me to tell me that you’d be interested in writing for the Praise Baby blog (you should have gotten a brief response from me last week, by the way), well, guess what?

You’re going to have to email me again.

Thanks for that, Hoopty Laptop.

All you have to do is put “Praise Baby” in the subject line. Mainly I just need something to file away so that I have everybody’s email address.

2) If you’re one of the B’ham bloggers who’s going to be at our little get-together Tuesday night (you should’ve gotten an email from me Saturday night with all the details), just remember that everything will start around 7-ish. Email me if you have questions or if you’ve had a change-o-plans.

3) Totally unrelated to bloggy-type business, but Andrew Peterson‘s new CD, Resurrection Letters, Vol. II, is out today, and hey, all you people who have been emailing me for a year and a half telling me how much I’d love his music? YOU WERE SO RIGHT.

Anyway, I have a little treat for y’all. You can download “I Got News,” a song from the new CD – and it’s totally free. No password, no email address, nothing – just free musical goodness. The song is absolutely beautiful. So enjoy.

  1. Be sure to check out Andrew Peterson’s older music too….definitely well worth your time (and money!)

  2. now i’ll have something new to work on in the shower!! (do re mi fa so la ti do)

  3. Thanks for sharing the download. I’m enjoying it right now.

  4. It’s downloaded! Thanks for the tip.

  5. I saw Andrew Peterson at a FREE concert in Columbus, OH last night!! It was a small crowd (75-80), but it was AWESOME. He played just his guitar or just the piano, and it was gorgeous. His stage presence is very down-to-earth while his lyrics are hit deep and hard. He’s giving more free concerts in the next couple weeks so people should really check out his website for the schedule.

  6. Oh, I’m SO glad you found Andrew Peterson! We’ve seen him several times in concert, and have most of his albums. If he is ever in your area, GO SEE HIM!!! His concerts are so good, and it never fails that whoever opens for him is always amazing, too. On that note, check out music by Randall Goodgame, who sometimes opens and writes with Andrew. His songs are so wonderful. They have a kids’ album together called Slugs and Bugs and Lullabyes and the music is so funny and cute. Some for girls, some for boys, some fast and funny, some sweet and slow. It is a wonderful kids cd.
And go see him with Behold the Lamb of God (his Christmas program) if it comes to your area. There will be a lot of people with him for that…Bebo Norman, Sara Groves, Andy Gullahorn, Andrew Osenga, and more, and the songs are wonderful for Christmas!

  7. Thanks for the song. It is great!! Too bad I can’t say the same for our MSU Bulldogs right now. Oh well, there is always basketball or baseball…

  8. Thank you for the song – we love his music!

  9. Hey I’m one of those people who emailed you and told you you’d love Andrew Peterson, but I didn’t know he had a new CD. Awesome.

If the “Behold the Lamb of God” deal is coming to your town this Christmas season, it is SO up your alley — they do a singing in the round of some of their popular songs, in addition to the Christmas part. We saw it last year.

  10. We are so excited we’re going to see Andrew’s “Behold the Lamb” concert this December in Charlotte! My husband sat anxiously at the computer screen yesterday at 7:59 am so he could be first online when the tickets went on sale (at 8:00). We’ve been to several concerts before, but we haven’t gotten to see the Christmas one yet. Oh, and “Slugs, Bugs, and Lullabies,” one of the best children’s CDs ever (my daughter loves “Piggy Little Toes”). Glad you found Andrew Peterson! I think my favorite CD of his is “Far Country.”

  11. How free was that! It’s already on my Mac (Hoopty Laptop)! ;)

Thank you!! Good stuff, playing now! I do love it. Thanks mucho!

And my regrets about your “Hoopty Laptop!” We all bid farewell. And thanks for the word up to back up my pictures!

  12. Thank you for last night, Sophie! It was nice getting to see you and meet the fams (and the other internets ;).)!

  13. Thanks also for recommending Daniel Renstrom, I happily downloaded the only six songs I could find from Amazon….are there more out there????

  14. Wow…. Beautiful song! Thanks!

  15. I’ve enjoyed my visit to your blog. You have a great writing voice and I enjoy your sense of humor. So glad I found you here in the bloggy universe.

  16. BooMama,
I’m so glad you found AP! I’ll just have to say “ditto” to everything Amy C. said–seen him in concert twice, have most of his albums, can’t wait to see him perform again! Note: Bring tissue, because you WILL cry. In a good way.

If you’re interested…and just ignore me if you’re not… ;) Here is my 2 1/2 yr. old (who was nearly named “Shiloh” because of Andrew Peterson’s song) singing one of the songs from Slugs & Bugs & Lullabies:
