Hewlett Packard Printer Review & Giveaway

cd028a_300

Several weeks ago I got an email asking if I’d like to try to HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One Printer, Scanner & Copier (be sure to memorize the official name because there will be a test at the end of this giveaway). Since I haven’t had a printer for about, oh, EIGHT YEARS, I quickly answered the email and said, “Yes, please.” Because I figured having a printer of my own might be a smidge more convenient than sending attachments to my husband and asking him to print them for me. Which is pretty much how I’ve run this operation from the get-go. All fancy-like, you know.

The printer arrived early last week, and while I was thrilled to try it, I wasn’t nearly as thrilled as my daddy, who happened to be visiting and COULD NOT WAIT to open the printer box. In fact, he was the one who unpacked everything and unwrapped all the manuals and whathaveyou, and I’m pretty sure that if I’d offered to give him the printer he would have done some hitchkicks in my dining room.

(Not that he’s really the hitchkicking type, you understand. But he was mighty impressed by everything the HP C6380 can do. I think it was the first time he’s ever thought this whole blogging thing just might have some merit, and that is totally fine because I know how deeply new electronics speak to the heart of every man.)

Later that night I got a chance to really put the printer to the test, and I couldn’t believe how easy it was to set up. For some reason I still expect to have to enter some MS-DOS commands when I install new software, but the HP installation was easy breezy and over in just a few minutes. Plus, it’s a wireless printer, so I didn’t even have to fool with any pesky cords. I have the printer neatly tucked away in an area where it’s pretty much out of sight (I’m not a fan of the electronic clutter), and it works like a dream.

And the next day, that sassy new printer really made a believer out of me. I realized that I’d forgotten to pick up a birthday card for a friend, and I was just about to pull out a piece of stationery and write a note when I realized WAIT! I HAVE A PRINTER NOW! I CAN MAKE A CARD!

Sometimes it’s the little things, you know?

So I went to the HP website and found a card I liked and printed it out right then and there. IT WAS A WONDER, not to mention that it was quite a bit more professional-looking than when I used to print out cards on my daddy’s dot-matrix printer when I was in high school.

We have given our HP printer a work-out this last week, and it’s been such a treat. The wireless feature is fab, and I’m so excited about scanning in old pictures (something else I’ve never been able to do because I’ve never owned a scanner before, which pretty much makes me an embarrassment to the entire internet). It probably goes without saying that I’m tickled that we now have a piece of home-office equipment that does everything we need.

(Except it doesn’t wash windows or do laundry.)

(I imagine that it will be several years before they add those particular features.)

SO, if you’d like to win an HP Photosmart C6380 printer of your very own, leave a comment on this post and tell me how this printer would make your life easier. This contest will remain open until Sunday, February 8th at 11:59 pm.

And if you’d like additional chances to win, check out the BlogHer HP giveaway round-up page.

Have fun, everybody!

  1. Oh wow! This would be a wonderful printer for my mom. We have a wireless printer but her ‘old style’ printer just died recently.

  2. Who wouldn’t love this..it would be great for all the scrapbooking I hope to get to one day…

  3. It would make my life so much easier because it might actually stay connected to our network and I might be able to print without going to the other end of the house and unplugging the printer for a few seconds before it will allow me to print.

Thanks for the chance to win!
    Jessica

  4. This would be so great! The printer that we have is so old and it is a constant pain in the neck to print anything. It usually involves re-installing the printer every time we want to print. VERY annoying.

  5. Oh – I could have a printer that works with my computer – not have to go to the laptop to print since it is compatible with our outdated printer! Thanks!

  6. i am such a fan of hp! i’ve been using an hp 7350 for between 5 & 10 years (memory is slipping). i must confess we have bought probably 10++ printers (when we see them on sale for $29, i hafta scarf them up because someone we know might need one), but none compares to a hp, in my book. i do a LOT of desk top publishing for church and family (wedding invitations, party invitations, cards, etc.) & my hp 7350 has never failed me.
alas, i know that day is coming.

the idea of a wireless one is too fantabulous. i sacrificed(willingly) my office to make a nursery for grandchildren & now have my desk shoved in a closet. sure would be nice to have a few thousand less cords under there. maybe there’d be a place for my feet! ha!

  7. My parents are soooo in need of a new printer! I would love to give this to them!

  8. dude!! i need a printer to print out coupons so i can save some money with my grocery shopping. as my son would say, “pweeeeeeeeeease!!!”

  9. I have a new grandbaby that everyone needs a picture of…is there a better reason???? har

  10. My friend has this one and it’s amazing!!! I would totally print out many many pictures of my baby girl (almost 10 months old!) and share them with everyone who would take one! :)

  11. Wireless…. that’s why I need this printer!! We need everything to be wireless…. 3 laptops, 1 desktop …. sharing one printer that is decidedly NOT wireless and as an aside … is usually out of paper or ink too when I need to print something!! Gives me a headache every time I think about needing to use it…! Wireless would make it so much easier and I don’t think I’d share it with the teenagers!

  12. Wow – you sure do know how to bring people to your blog…lol :)

A printer would be awesome – need one with the kids starting school and I am sure there will be projects :)

  13. I would love to be able to print my pictures…I have over 1000 on my computer that I have have printed yet….how terrible!

  14. The wireless part would be so cool! I hope I win!

  15. Oh yes you can interest me in a printer, copier, scanner! I am giddy with excitement at the thought of having this baby in my home!
    Pam

  16. Love the wireless aspect…easy!

  17. I could keep that printer with me when I scrapbook and just print out photos as I need them! In whatever size strikes my fancy! Cool!

  18. Our printer is on its very last legs. Sometimes it prints, and then, well, sometimes it’s on strike.

    This would be lovely.

  19. Love the wireless feature!

  20. This printer would make my life easier because I NEED the wireless feature! Love it.

  21. This would make my like easier because…well because it’s wireless, and it can scan and copy. It would be a dream come true!

  22. Wow, lots of comments! Love the printer, wireless is my problem right now. Planning on archiving pics and getting the rest of these scrapbooks done. A printer would help! Thanks.

  23. I am in desperate need of a copier/scanner/printer! I need to archive some old photos and no longer have a scanner that works with my laptop.
Wireless would be awesome!…and it looks like you can print from a digital camera card, too? Woo Hoo – this is the printer for me!
    Hope I win :)

  24. I’d love the wireless feature. I could keep it downstairs in a small spot, which would be handy for school.. less running up and down the stairs during the day to get the printouts.

  25. I would love the wireless factor!! I could print my coupons from anywhere in my house :)

  26. Our printer is so bad, we have to turn it off and back on again when we want to print something! A new one would be great…and a wireless printer is even better!

  27. I could so use this! Mine won’t scan anymore, making it difficult for me to humiliate friends and family by putting old photos on my blog. HELP ME!

  28. Oh BooMama! How we gals love a giveaway!

I, like you, have sent atts. to work for husband to print and bring home.

We recently got a new computer and finally bought a printer for home.
    And…I hate it.
The paper never loads correctly, the ink is already running low, it’s right under my feet, need I say more! I need this wireless genius in my office! k

  29. I would love to have one device that scans and prints instead of having multiple machines. Plus I HATE all the cords we have going on in our office.

  30. i would so love this printer/scanner/thingy! the only printer i ever had was given to me via my grandmothers will (long story) and 2 weeks after i got it, i gave it to my sister who was in school at the time and really needed it mroe than me. i have never owned another printer. i would love it mmost for the picture aspect as i love scrapbooking, and like to print up pictures for everyone in my family and make special gifts for friends and family out of pictures. this sounds like the perfect thing!
thanks for your generosity to us all:)

  31. I am the director of a child development center and we always scan baby pictures of our 4K “graduates” and make a movie to show at graduation. Our scanner has broken so this would be a dream come true!

  32. What a wonderful giveaway.
I would like to win this printer because the one I currently have is broken.
I love all the features. It would be nice to be able to print photos, recipes and articles off the internet again.

  33. There are simply NO WORDS for how thrilled I would be to have this printer. We are in the process of adopting a precious little boy and there is not one single thin dime left for the simple things, like oh you know food – so a printer would be such a treat for mommy.

  34. We’ve got more printers than we know what to do with. One nice wireless printer would be grand then we could donate the other three to the school or library.

  35. It would be so great to have a wireless printer/scanner/copier deal at our house. My school-age kids use the printer all the time for their assignments, and I would love to be able to scan photos. Thanks for having this giveaway!

  36. I work for my small town’s not for profit tourist information centre…..we would love to have wireless capabilities! Most of our phamplets are made onsite and this would allow us to make even better ones!!!

I hope you can send to canada….the post didn’t say no.

  37. oooooooh, pick me! pick me!

    thank you very much.

  38. Pick me, pick me! I homeschool and I would love not have to walk to the printer and do all that other stuff when I could just hit print!

    Yea!
    Thanks
    April

  39. Cool printer! It would be so much easier to print from my notebook while I have it not plugged in. I could also get rid of my printer AND separate scanner/copier. Hope I win :-)

  40. I think I could figure out how to use one of these :)

  41. I’d love to win this! I have 4 kids all in school so a printer like this would be a life-saver. Plus my husband (like yours) has been doing all our printing. I’m sure he’d enjoy the break =)

    Gretchen N.

  42. Hi! My husband just dove into his own business and we found an old, used free printer that works okay, but for the kind of flyers and advertising he would love to do, it isn’t the best… and everytime he needs to fax something he has to drive to my parent’s house and borrow their fax… so oh my, having our own would ROCK! We were just talking about it today how much we would love that. Thanks!

  43. Pick me! Pick me! My printer is old and ugly…I don’t like it and it doesn’t like me!

  44. I want to make labels with pictures for my kid’s toyboxes so that I will not have to do keep telling them what toy goes where.
Oh the labels I woulld make.
    It’s such a happy thought.

  45. The scanner on my older HP (1200) printer-scanner-copier quit on my just TODAY. It would be oh-so-handy to win a new one!

  46. How can I use the printer? Let me count the ways.

Well we have never owned a printer or a scanner so having one at home would be an amazing luxury. The thing that would be most exciting is being able to help my son with schoolwork and not plan to go in to work and print things for him ahead of time. Or to scan in photos for scrapbooking!

    Thanks!

  47. I have my own monogramming business. Printing invoices, my kids endless papers for school, invitations for 3 boys birthday parties, um, do I need to come up with any more reasons?I would LOVE a HP Photosmart C6380 printer!

  48. I have been dying for a wireless printer. When I want to print something I have to lug the laptop up the stairs to the printer. It’s very inconvenient.

  49. This printer would make my life easier because my current printer is older and shall we say, “inconsistent?” It is hit or miss when it will work properly or at all, so a new printer would be wonderful!

  50. I could sooo use an awesome printer. I print everything off at work! It would be so much more handy to actually be able to print at home! :)

  51. Nita in South Carolina says:

How would this make my life easier? This house contains two adults; one 14 year old boy; one 12 year old girl; one bathroom; and one printer.

A fancy new printer would cut out at least one “Are you going to be done soon????” a day.

  52. Valerie Steeley says:

I homeschool and often times need to copy something from a book (legally, of course!) and this would be so nice to have. Also, to be able to scan things would be really cool, too.

  53. Wireless! Wireless makes everything easier doesn’t it….that would be one of the best things, besides the fact that it scans/copies/prints.

  54. My printer hasn’t worked for several months, so it would so fab if I won one!

  55. Anything techie is supposed to make my life easier, right? Right??

  56. Both my printer and scanner are on the blitz right now. So, I could definitely use one of these HP Photosmart C6380 all in one, printer, scanner and copier. I figured since I remembered the full name maybe I’d win. LOL! I also love to make cards to send to friends and family.

  57. this printer would help me scan all my kiddos’ artwork into my computer so it wouldn’t continue to take over my house :)
thank you for the great giveaway!

  58. I scrapbook…’nough said! :)

  59. Wow, a printer that would not eat every other piece of paper? And wireless….I wouldn’t have to pester others to print things for me. Great to have for my college kids too, printing out all those scholarships they are going to have to find to pay for school.

  60. Heidi Lambeth says:

WOW- this would be a dream come true!

  61. Greetings! This is your Central Texas Fan Club! Holy New Year! I’m the secretary to our little church, and I print the bulletins on my little printer, and sometimes tracts to pass out. Rough way to go! And that’s what I would use it for. Love you, Sis!

  62. I’m in college and I left my printer at home. I could use one in my new apt!

  63. We’ve got wireless internet … and it always seems like I need to print something when I’m using the laptop! Having a wireless printer would allow me to be able to print anywhere on any computer. ;-)

  64. Our printer is on it’s last leg. A new one is surely is on the horizon! Thanks for your generosity!

  65. Groovy!

  66. Please pick me. We currently have a cheapy printer but it is setup on another floor of our house and in order to print anything I have to WALK an ENTIRE flight of stairs. And that is just too far.:)

  67. Kelly in Carrollton says:

    pick me! thanks!!!

  68. I am a stay at home mom (used to be a sixth grade teacher) now I tutor math. I could use the printer to copy and print materials for my sessions. I am also a Sunday school teacher and that printer would come in handy for lots of things.

  69. I could really use a wireless printer, mine is broke and it would be great to print things again.

  70. Wireless would make things so much easier for our family.

  71. I would love this to print pictures!!!

  72. Enter me, please!

  73. BooMama,

The HP Photosmart all in one does every thing but wash the windows and do the laundry printer would make my life easier because I could print using the wireless thingy that you talked about. :D

    Donna

  74. I dream of a printer that doesn’t jam or tell me it’s out of ink EVERY Single Time I go to print something.

  75. Now that live out in the sticks (I am for really real 27 miles from the nearest Wal-Mart and 25 miles from the nearest Target and 15 miles from the nearest Walgreens and don’t even get me started on how far away I am from Wolf Camera), it would make it a lot easier for me to get my photos off the computer and into my hands.

    AND you are pretty.

  76. Wireless…and a great photo printer?!? This must be too good to be true.

I am actually shopping for a printer right now. The printer I currently have is obsolete because you can’t but ink for it anymore.

  77. What’s not to love? Thanks for the giveaway!

  78. Thank you for your generous giveaway. It is a thrill to have a chance to win this fabulous printer!

  79. My sweet husband and daughter got me a new computer desk for Christmas – but there isn’t a good place for the printer – I’m also not a fan of the electronic clutter, so a wireless printer could be tucked away!
    Thanks!

  80. I currently have a printer and also a printer/copier/scanner which has never worked right since I got it 2 years ago. I’d love to have one unit that does it all and actually works like it should.

  81. Amy in WA (Texas transplant) says:

Wireless? Oh, the printing that could be done!

  82. Oh, wireless…be still my heart! I would just love it to death!!

    Suzanne

  83. Our old laptop died, and we just disovered that the printer port on the new one is, in your words BooMama, FAYN-CEE, and doesn’t connect to our dinosaur of a printer. I Need This!!!

    Thank you. :-)

  84. I want to print out pictures of my new baby so I can show everyone I meet how cute he is.

  85. Seeing that we don’t have a printer, but have a laptop . . .it would come in very handy!! :)

  86. heather bickford says:

This printer would be so cool!! We have several computers and laptops in the house and it is a pain with one printer. This would be very useful to whomever wins it!!

  87. We have one printer that we all share. Our computers are hooked up to a wireless network but not my ancient printer. In order for the kids to print out any schoolwork, they have to email it to me or put it on a jump drive to bring it to my computer or school to print it out.

Not only that, but I’m tired of slogging over to Walgreen’s to pick up digital pictures I want to print. Printing any photos at all is beyond my printer’s capabilities.

  88. Well, it would definitely keep my husband from spending oogles of money on a new one. Plus with the Facebook the kids are using these days, we have tons and tons of black mail fodder, I mean, old pictures to scan and post or save in the safe deposit box. Take your pick!

    ~Meredith

  89. Lara Harris says:

I have three teenage girls who all have a copious amount of school projects. I also have a need to get caught up on scrapbooking the life and times of said three teenage girls. Would love it. Thanks, Lara

  90. I’m like you – I haven’t had a printer since the last one bit the dust 5 years ago. I send attachments to my husband to print for me, but trust me when I say he and I would both love to be able to print at home!

  91. I’d love to win this. It would make my life easier to have a scanner, printer and copier all in one!

  92. I have been wanting one of these b/c I too do not have a scanner!

  93. Count me in! I am in desperate need of a printer {especially wireless} since we’ve had our little girl and lost our office I have to dig the printer out of her closet every time I want to print something-and now it’s not working! I send things to my husband to print too :)

  94. To have an all in one would just make so much simplier here on this island with three kids all of whom now have school project that need the computer!!

  95. Kellie Pogue says:

I would SOOOOO love to win a HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One Printer, Scanner & Copier. It sounds like such a great machine and I’d love being able to print cards and pictures too!!

  96. It is wireless and small!

  97. What a fantastic giveaway! Thank you for the chance to win! :)

  98. It would make my life easier b/c it would actually be a printer that worked and I could hide it from my 2 boys:)

  99. I likie! It looks very cool!

  100. It’s wireless!

    I have too many wires.
