Several weeks ago I got an email asking if I’d like to try to HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One Printer, Scanner & Copier (be sure to memorize the official name because there will be a test at the end of this giveaway). Since I haven’t had a printer for about, oh, EIGHT YEARS, I quickly answered the email and said, “Yes, please.” Because I figured having a printer of my own might be a smidge more convenient than sending attachments to my husband and asking him to print them for me. Which is pretty much how I’ve run this operation from the get-go. All fancy-like, you know.
The printer arrived early last week, and while I was thrilled to try it, I wasn’t nearly as thrilled as my daddy, who happened to be visiting and COULD NOT WAIT to open the printer box. In fact, he was the one who unpacked everything and unwrapped all the manuals and whathaveyou, and I’m pretty sure that if I’d offered to give him the printer he would have done some hitchkicks in my dining room.
(Not that he’s really the hitchkicking type, you understand. But he was mighty impressed by everything the HP C6380 can do. I think it was the first time he’s ever thought this whole blogging thing just might have some merit, and that is totally fine because I know how deeply new electronics speak to the heart of every man.)
Later that night I got a chance to really put the printer to the test, and I couldn’t believe how easy it was to set up. For some reason I still expect to have to enter some MS-DOS commands when I install new software, but the HP installation was easy breezy and over in just a few minutes. Plus, it’s a wireless printer, so I didn’t even have to fool with any pesky cords. I have the printer neatly tucked away in an area where it’s pretty much out of sight (I’m not a fan of the electronic clutter), and it works like a dream.
And the next day, that sassy new printer really made a believer out of me. I realized that I’d forgotten to pick up a birthday card for a friend, and I was just about to pull out a piece of stationery and write a note when I realized WAIT! I HAVE A PRINTER NOW! I CAN MAKE A CARD!
Sometimes it’s the little things, you know?
So I went to the HP website and found a card I liked and printed it out right then and there. IT WAS A WONDER, not to mention that it was quite a bit more professional-looking than when I used to print out cards on my daddy’s dot-matrix printer when I was in high school.
We have given our HP printer a work-out this last week, and it’s been such a treat. The wireless feature is fab, and I’m so excited about scanning in old pictures (something else I’ve never been able to do because I’ve never owned a scanner before, which pretty much makes me an embarrassment to the entire internet). It probably goes without saying that I’m tickled that we now have a piece of home-office equipment that does everything we need.
(Except it doesn’t wash windows or do laundry.)
(I imagine that it will be several years before they add those particular features.)

I have been wanting a wireless printer for soooo long! It’s hard to get to the corner where the printer is and plug in the laptop to print anything. I’d love to be able to stay in the room where I’m trying to control the chaos and just magically print DS’s homework forms and such. And honestly, I have some writing projects that I’m behind on because printing is such a hassle I don’t print off my drafts to do a proper editing job on them.
Who knows, maybe if I won this printer I’d actually get my Pulitzer prize winning novel done, or the Newberry Award children’s book, or a magazine article that will save a life or lead to world peace!
Oh, to be able to make copies of things in my own home….

A wireless printer would be awesome for me! Considering my printer sits on my dining room table right now because I always have my lap top in my living… I could stash a wireless printer anywhere not to mention my current printer is ages old :) Oh and since it’s a good photo printer too it would be wonderful for my picture taking obsession.
Seeing as how I have not had ink in my printer in what seems like forever, having a new one that uses individual ink cartridges would make me so very happy. I’ll finally be able to print off pictures for the grandparents (or for myself). Print off my tax return (which I’m still not sure where I’m going to print this). Make birthday cards for those times (ok all the time) I forget about the card until the last minute. Oh I hope I win.
This printer sounds awesome. The changing of wires for the Zune, printer, drawing tablet, etc…is making me crazy! Never mind that I’m on my knees several times a day!
I would love having this printer for 1 of 3 possible purposes:
I work with a lady (we each work out of our homes) where a printer is very helpful, but right now she cannot afford one due to high medical bills of her husbands. I would either give her the new one (if she can use wireless) or I would keep that (which would help me greatly) and give her my good printer/scanner/copier so she would have one. OR…if she has one by then I would offer this one to the ministry in the Dominican Republic where we go on a mission trip each summer…OR…I would use this one and donate mine to a local charity.
Love this Printer!!!! I have 4 kids with a social life that is killing me AND breaking my bank account!!!! We would NEVER go to the card store again! And my daughters can make actual presents for their friends instead of buying them!!This will save LOTS of time and LOTS of money!!!… (and did I mention that my printer just died!… so I too have been e-mailing to hubby and having him print things for me… )

Ooh, I could really use this! When I got married a few years ago, the printer I used stayed at my parents house. Plus the scanner would be great to scan all my old pictures!
My printer just died – so actually being able to print something would be super helpful to simplify life… but the wireless feature….. With my toddler attached to my leg all day, it would be nice to have some freedom to roam and still print without dragging cables galore behind me.

I have been wanting a photo printer since my sister got one like two years ago. It’s funny that I would read this today because last night my husband and I were at Costco. We walked through the computer/printer department and just the sight of this HP wireless one caused me to salivate! It would be fabulous. I have a laptop and it’s so frustrating to have to hook it up every time I want to print something. AND, I have tons of frames in my house with pictures of random families (the ones that come in the frame) because I never get around to going to have my pictures printed. This would be priceless!
I have three girls. Three girls who love graphics. Three girls whose high school projects all involve vast quantities of ink.
We’re wearing out our current printer, which only works half the time.
I’d give this one to my about-to-graduate-high-school-photographer daughter Sarah. Because she deserves a printer of her very own….
The wireless part really works for me!
I would LOVE to be able to get my pictures out of the camera and into scrapbooks. It would be great to be able to do this so easily at home.
WOW! Wireless would ROCK! No more waiting until I have ‘enough’ stuff to print before I extract myself from the couch and climb the stairs, extra large-screened laptop in hand (ok in handS), shove the random stuff that has piled on the old ‘computer desk’ to the side, connect the printer to my laptop, turn on the printer, and wait for it to test the ink and then FINALLY print! I could just send what I need printed when I need it printed and it would BE THERE when I was done with all my business on my computer. (and I wouldn’t store it upstairs either -we all use our laptops downstairs -why do extra exercise?)

I need this printer because I have a zillion photos stored on discs from over three years ago that I need to print off.
I would love to have a printer that I could literally ‘Hide” from my kids. Everytime I need to print something, I have to figure out who stuck what in the printer? where is the inkjet? Why are there Cheerios on the scanner? Where is all the paper? I would love to free up some space on my computer by printing the 1000+ pics. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I send everything I need printed to my hubby. This is just what I need. Wireless amazing and I have an HP computer that is tops.

I do not have a printer to print my photos or document. If I need photos I email them to Costco for printing. If I need a document, I take into work. This is not very productive.

Well, we recently moved and got all our internet and stuff set-up, and then realized that we don’t have a working printer, so when i really need to print something, i send it to myself by email and then once a month or so, i visit my friend in the town i moved from – about 30 minutes away, and she lets me print from your computer on her printer. Talk about a long-distance print. What would i do if i had this printer? Oh my gosh! I would print everything! I would scan all those old letters that my great uncle wrote in 1946, and i would get some very valuable (and rare) baby pictures of my husband scanned so i can give the originals back to my mother-in-law so she can stop looking at me like that.

Would absolutely love the scanning feature. My workplace doesn’t have one, yet my position at said workplace requires the use of one. Need I say more.
I am in full-time ministry as a Biblical COunselor – volunteer – and largely fund my own ministry due to lack of finances at my church. I was given an office at church, and the printer is dying a slow death. This would be an awesome answer to a need for me – I print off many resources for the women I counsel every day.

uhmm.. my printer just bit the bullet.. but it wasn’t the best to begin with.. but it did get the job done.. maybe not as nice as i would have wanted.. but nonetheless, it served it’s purpose.. RIP.
I need this wireless printer! My kids have taken over “my” computer room and I can’t even see the desk anymore!!! I would love to just push a button and have them spit out the pics- that way I don’t even have to step foot in the “pit”.

My HP PSC 500 seems to be on it’s last leg and getting ink for it has gotten harder. They don’t seem to see double packs with the combo of color and black cartridges that it uses. That suggests to me that it’s getting very outdated. This printer would be so awesome for printing the photos and other graphics that I use for my hobby and the day camp for kids with disabilities that I “run”. Hubby tells me there is no money for a new fancy printer and I know he is right but I really love this one.

…we gave away our beautiful new printer when we moved to AK in December and bought a cheezy, cheepy, 10.00 one on craigslist. Husband is a photographer, and he needs something awesome. I have a good one at work that I can use for my own uses, but Gary, he’s sad and blue for a new one.
OH MY!!! In order to print these days, I have to call my husband at his office, direct him verbally to the site (you know how hard it is to verbally direct a male somewhere!), ask him to print it, remind him to PLEASE don’t forget my recipe for Paula Deen’s chicken soup (or whatever it is), then when he comes home WITHOUT said print-out, either ask him to go back or do it myself…or sweetly do without. So you see how it would make my life easier to print out from home! :)
I HAVE TEENAGERS!!! I rarely get to even use the computer when I desperately need to daily! So there I sit, waiting my turn behind 3 kids and a husband when I could be firing up the laptop and printing/scanning/and copying ’til my heart’s content! As an elementary school teacher and group exercise instructor and generally a creative person–I NEED THIS!

I’d really like to have this printer! Ours is ancient and doesn’t do anything fancy so this would be wonderful. I could easily photocopy and enlarge my sewing patterns at home and print off pictures and scan lots of things!! It would make life so much more fun!

Wireless gives me freedom in so many ways – I don’t have to change rooms to print if I’m on my laptop, I don’t have to take up valuable desk space for the printer since I can locate it anywhere, friends and family can easily use it when visiting without changing wired connections, and I have one less cord snaking through the room!

I currently have to transfer my files to my sister’s computer so that I can print. This would be so convenient to have my own all-in-one printer.
My husnabd has our only printer hooked up to his computer. He tells me that we can’t hook up my computer due to the length of the cables. I’d sure like to save time and complication of printing by having a wireless HP printer.

I live in the boondocks so when I need to scan or copy I have to drive many miles (25) to get the job done. The faxing I can get into the office at the place I live if I fax during certain hours. The wireless feature is what I like the best. Because of health issues, I can’t sit in my office chair for long periods of time. I have 3 new grandchildren. I really need a printer to print off all the beautiful pictures of them I take. I need to make more copies of all of their “First” drawings. I am usually clueless when it comes to checking the calendar ahead of time, buying cards for special occasions and sending them. I am usually sending birthday greeting days or even weeks after it happens. If I had a printer to print the cards I might get the cards out on time. I also send to Costco photographs to print and with this printer I can do them myself and save time/money in doing so.
We would use it for home schooling. My wife can scan in my kids’ homework and email it to me so I can grade it! :)
Oh I can certainly relate about sending an attachment to your husband. What started out as my printer originally then when his kicked the bucket the printer became his for work and our business. I’d love to have something that would really do my pictures justice when they are printed and since I don’t purchase cards in the stores anymore, but tend to make my own something like this would be just what I could really use. With the economy the way it is if we can do it at home ourselves we are also saving money on having professional do the printing for us at outrageous prices.
