— We are watching American Idol right now, and I am enjoying this speedier approach to the festivities. I think it’s a nice change that the preliminary rounds won’t take as long, and I like that we’ll be in the heart of the competition a little faster. It’s also fun seeing more of what’s going on behind the scenes with the mentoring and the coaching and the “mic-ography” and the styling.
— Dave Barnes’ new video for “Good,” his latest single, is just about the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen.
— I can’t remember how I ran across this blog post by Mo Isom called “I Just Got Engaged And Immediately Doubted My Decision,” but oh my goodness. I so wish I’d had this kind of wisdom when I got engaged 17 years ago. Such great perspective on marriage.
— Jessi at Naptime Diaries has such well-designed, original printables every month. I am such a fan of having fun, colorful, encouraging stuff to put on our walls, and for only $5 each month, you can download all sorts of great printables (and in lots of sizes). You get calendar pages, scripture memory cards, wall hangings – all sorts of goodies that will brighten whatever month it happens to be.
— This is different from normal linky material, but last week my friend Amie Beth linked to this video, and while the subject matter is interesting, what I love the most is the way Ravi Zacharias responds to the man who asks the question. He’s respectful, logical, pointed, and gracious.
— This post by Nester is so great: “Why You’ve Got to Have Guests When Your House Isn’t Perfect.”
— I hope y’all have a great Wednesday!
And so does Hazel.
Now all you need to do is grab another cutey-cute-cute puppy and name her Pearl so you’d having a matching set of sweeties like I do. My daughters are Hazel and Pearl. :)
Love your daughter’s names. My granddaughter’s name is Ava Pearl. We call her A Pearl (her big sister, Nora’s name for her), Pearl, Ava and Aba and she answers to them all. ;)
I think you should include a picture of Hazel in every post. She’s totally adorable and makes me smile. It would be like a public service… to brighten your faithful readers’ days.
:-)
I agree! We need a daily dose of a Hazel!! She is too stinkin cute!
Aww, sweet Hazel looks so comfy and at home.
Sweet puppy.
I like AI so much better this year. They went from the worst season, in my opinion, to what looks like a great one.
Thanks for the links. Tomorrow is my youngest boy’s birthday. He’s 12 and that video just about did me in. I’m going to share it on my blog.
I love Ravi Zaccharias — if you like him, you may also love Os Guiness. He’s equally thoughtful and brilliant, and has written many books. Our church brought him in as a speaker a few years ago, and he also spoke at a local university.
Well that’s too much sweet in one post! First heard that song on The Message during my free XM trial a month or so ago and absolutely fell in love with it. I didn’t think it was possible to love it more until I just watched that video. Agreed – sweetest thing EVER! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for introducing me to Dave Barnes. I love this song and video!
