The Big Boo Cast, Episode 145

Not to be overly WOMP WOMP, but the first part of this episode is about as low-key as you’ll ever hear us. That’s because about seventeen-ish minutes after we started recording, we lost our connection, and the files with our audio disappeared right before our eyes. This is where we would love to blame the website we use to record, but the truth is we don’t have any way of knowing exactly what happened. We just thought that our enthusiastic discussion about the InstantPot was lost in an internet graveyard forever.

So. We tried our best to rebound as we started recording all over again. It’s safe to say we were weary.

BUT WAIT! Our sad tale has a redemptive arc!

After I started editing the WOMP WOMP part of the episode, I opened the website where we record. It was a fit of optimism, but I thought maybe – MAYBE – the audio would be there. And do you know what? IT WAS. So you’ll hear Discouraged Us for the first 40-ish minutes, but then you’ll hear Upbeat Us for the last 15 or so minutes, and DIDN’T THAT ALL WORK OUT AT LEAST SORT OF?

Hope y’all enjoy.

  1. I love my Instant Pot. A surprise was cooking hard boiled eggs in it. It’s so easy – 6 minutes to cook, 6 minutes before release, 10 minutes in ice water. Best part – always easy to peel. My husband is a spare ribs snob and was shocked at how tender they turned out in the I.P. We’ll never cook them any other way. They were fall-off-the-bone tender. I’m going to try spaghetti next – the whole thing from browning the meat to adding all the rest, including uncooked pasta. I’m now interested in an air fryer but have held off, so far. Thanks for another fun podcast!
