A few years ago I started putting together a little gift guide for $20-ish gifts for teenage girls. I did this because one of the perks of my job is that I listen to teenage girls ALL DAY LONG, and it made sense to translate that knowledge into something other than an encyclopedic knowledge of Taylor Swift lyrics.

I also have a borderline encyclopedic knowledge of Adele lyrics, but that’s really neither here nor there.

ANYWAY, this year my gift guide is over at Ree’s blog. I had so much fun putting it together, and I hope it’ll help a few people who have found themselves standing in Bath & Body Works with some strawberry liquid soap and wondering, “Maybe she’ll like this? Maybe? Do teenagers even like soap anymore?”

After I mentioned The Blacklist in yesterday’s post, I watched the first episode. And I think it’s safe to say that I am hooked.

I’m so hooked, in fact, that I wrote a post about it for Ree’s blog.

I know it’s early in the season, but I really do think that The Blacklist holds all sorts of promise. Provided, of course, that you’re into spy-ish stuff. And government-y intrigue. And whathaveyou.

Well, I am just as tickled as I can be because a little while ago I checked to see what was on the DVR when I was folding clothes – and lo and behold, there is a new season of Project Runway.

I had no idea it was time for a new season, but I’m so excited to watch. I’ve only seen about the first 15 minutes so far, but that was long enough to find out that the accessory wall is now sponsored by Belk. Or the Belks, I should say. And that made me smile.

Anyway, I don’t have anything new for here today, but I do have a post up over at the Barnes & Noble blog. It’s about the South and summertime. As you might imagine, I have a thing or two to say about air conditioning.

Hey bloggy people –

I don’t have a new post here today, but I do have a new post over at Ree’s. It’s about the new movie adaptation of The Great Gatsby, and as you can imagine, the 19 year-old English major who forever lives deep down inside of me is BESIDE HERSELF with excitement.

She’s also wearing a really big plaid hair bow. She’s probably wearing a Cambridge Dry Goods sweater, too.
