Today I had a delightful lunch with my hubby and my little man, and when I got home I noticed a FedEx box propped against the front door.
And do you know what was inside that FedEx box? The one and only Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy.
Well, I mean, it’s Mr. Darcy in DVD form. But still. It was a very special moment. And I think we should have ourselves a little giveaway to celebrate.
(However, I should probably warn you that my cousin Paige is visiting right now, and given the fact that she has never met a British romance that she didn’t absolutely love, I’m probably going to have to hide the DVDs for the next 24 hours.)
(In fact, she turned on the TV last night with the sole purpose of catching the last few minutes of “Masterpiece Theatre.” Neveryoumind that I couldn’t even tell her what channel PBS is on because as you know I AM VERY CULTURED AND REFINED.)
So.
If you’d like to win The Romance Collection Special Edition, which is bascially over 30 hours of “star-studded, classic literary adaptations on 14 DVDs” (you can see all the details right here), all you have to do is leave a comment and tell me so. I’ll leave the giveaway open until tomorrow night at 6 o’clock central time, at which point I’ll select a winner using random.org.
And just for kicks, tell me your favorite romantic movie when you leave your comment.
Oh, it’ll be jolly good fun.
(Sorry.)
(I couldn’t help it.)
(Sorry.)
This giveaway is now closed.

You are so sweet to think of all of us. I would love the chance to win this set. My favorite all time romantic movie – Notting Hill “I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her”.
Several of my favorite romance movies include:
The Notebook
Return to Me
Pretty Woman
Pride and Prejudice
Sleepless in Seattle
50 First Dates
There’s more, but I shall stop there.
Hope I win!! My MIL will LOVE those DVD’s and it will be great “girl time” to watch together!!!!
I just learned the other day that they were releasing this set. My daughter and I love watching these shows on PBS together, but it would be even better to be able to share them together on DVD, where we can pick the time that we watch them. Please enter me in your drawing. I would really like to win them for my daughter.
North & South… Pride & Prejudice… Emma…. there are too many to choose from!
Keep those DVDs hidden, becuase i want to win them!
And one of my favorite movies…”Last of the Mohicans.”
My favorite romantic movie is “The Notebook,” at which I cried so hard I had to sit in the movie theater afterwards for at least 20 minutes before I could show myself in public because I was all blotchy-faced and runny-nosed.
My second favorite is Pride and Prejudice, pretty much any adaptation. :-)
OH I have really wanted to see those! My favorite romantic movie is “When Harry Met Sally”.
I love them all, but one of my favorites is Sense and Sensibility. Thank you for this giveaway!
I adore anything Jane Austin! Mansfield Park, Emma, Sense and Sensibility are lovely! However, my favorite is Pride and Prejudice! Thanks for having this drawing MRS. BOOMAMA!!!!!!!
I have never seen Pride and Prejudice so I really would like to win so I can see the movie. This is sooooo exciting!!!! I will be on pins and needles to see if I win!!
I LOVE P&P, S&S, Emma, and the rest! What a great giveaway. I think my favorite romance movie would be “Hitch.” It’s the first movie I went to on a date with a guy… and now he’s my husband!
Oh WOW! I am a HUGE fan of British comedy/romance! I love Pride and Prejuidice, Sense and Sensibility, Notting Hill, Love Actually, etc…but my favorite is P & P!!! And I LOVE Collin Firth! So pick me Mr. Random guy thing!
A new movie!! Sweet!
My favorite romantic movie? Hmmmm…..
The Quiet Man. Love Maureen O’Hara & John Wayne together. I’m not so much the PBS type either, unless it’s the Antique Roadshow.
I hope i win.
I’d love to win! My favorite is Pride and Prejudice.
I like more of a hybrid romance–something light or funny, like Notting Hill or even Hitch. And I’m lucky because my hubby will watch those with me.
A Jane Austen-esque show–well I’m on my own there, so I’d love to have a stash to watch on days at home when I need a good fix.
Cheerio!
I so hope I win! I love pride & prejuduce, it is one of my all-time favorites!
I’d love to win this and have a great big slumber party with my sister! My favorite of recent months is Emma. :o)

I’m partial to “Emma” since it mirrors my own love story pretty closely.
Oh, I hope I get picked. My favorite girl movie is Sweet Home Alabama.
There is no romance better than Mr. Darcy and Miss Bennet (in English fiction, anyway). Scarlett and Rhett would be a close second.
Oh, my heavens! I am such an Anglophile and love Jane Austen and the Bronte sisters (Can you tell I was an English teacher in another life?)
My all-time favorite movie, which just happens to be a romance set in Ireland (where my husband and I honeymooned) is The Quiet Man with Maureen O’Hara and John Wayne. The runner-up is You’ve Got Mail, with the original Shop Around the Corner a close third.
I would absolutely love to win this! Masterpiece Theatre is awesome! I am really enjoying Cranford right now. :)
Oh, please pick me!! Your niece and I would get along well in the movie picks. As for a favorite? It’s so hard to pick and changes every few minutes or so. Currently, the favorite is Anne of Green Gables.
Oh I love me some Mr. Darcy!!!
Favorite romantic movie? That’s hard to pick Ms. Boo. But I think I’d have to say perhaps Emma (“Badly done Emma. Baaadly done!”)

I would love to win this. My favorite romance is Top Gun and Pride and Prejudice.. how is that for a combination :-P
OH BOO!! Hands down my fave romantic movie is A&E’s Pride and Prejudice. I’m a huuuuge Gone With the Wind fan, too, but mostly the book. And, well, the fact that Rhett leaves her in the end isn’t exactly romantic. Oh well. I adore all the Jane Austen adaptations and I’d be excited to see other adaptations that involve other books/authors! Thanks!
Oh I NEED, and I mean NEED me some romance! My life right now is quite a sad story….

I love Sweet Home Alabama for this line: “Why’d you marry me anyway? So I can kiss you whenever I want!”
I love a good chic flick – but I usually only watch movies once. I do watch American President every time I see it on cable – is that a romantic movie?
Does the Matrix count as a romance? Love that trilogy. Regency is another fav. Would love watching these with my sister.

In the words of Donkey from Shrek….”OOO, pick me. Pick me. Pick me!” I love a good love story. Of course I’m still single and blinded by the belief that I can have happily ever after too. My favorite would either be “The Notebook” or “Anne of Green Gables” or “Love Comes Softly”. All very good!
GONE WITH THE WIND…my all time favorite. I would love to win your contest, thanks for allowing me to enter!
Oh, so love Gone with the Wind!! Thanks for entering me.

What can top 5 hours of Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice?
If I don’t finally let it out that I am, in fact, in LOVE with Mr. Darcy, I think my head may explode! This might be my only chance to be with him forever!!
How sweet of you to give away love! I’ve not actually seen any of those movies, so I do not know of this Mr Darcy you speak, but I assure you I would love to find out! Something other than animated in the DVD player? Will it actually work?
My favorite love movie is The Notebook.

All the Pride and Prejudices, although we love the old one with Lawrence Olivier and Edna May Oliver as Lady Catherine. And we *love* Bride and Prejudice–it’s the Bollywood version with Aishwarya Rai, Naveen Andrews and others. Gorgeous movie and *so* hilarious. So many quotes from that one are in our family lexicon!
And 50 First Dates.
And Emma and Persuasion and the rest of the Jane Austens.

Hope Floats.
