Today I had a delightful lunch with my hubby and my little man, and when I got home I noticed a FedEx box propped against the front door.
And do you know what was inside that FedEx box? The one and only Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy.
Well, I mean, it’s Mr. Darcy in DVD form. But still. It was a very special moment. And I think we should have ourselves a little giveaway to celebrate.
(However, I should probably warn you that my cousin Paige is visiting right now, and given the fact that she has never met a British romance that she didn’t absolutely love, I’m probably going to have to hide the DVDs for the next 24 hours.)
(In fact, she turned on the TV last night with the sole purpose of catching the last few minutes of “Masterpiece Theatre.” Neveryoumind that I couldn’t even tell her what channel PBS is on because as you know I AM VERY CULTURED AND REFINED.)

Oh, these are my favorites! Personally, I watch the A&E P&P every year at least once…
But I have others that I love as well: Sense and Sensibility, Notting Hill, While You Were Sleeping, When Harry Met Sally and Always.
Well it’s certainly not original but I absolutely love The Notebook! I cry everytime.

I would love love love these DVDs. I love the British romance – I have seen Howard’s End about 75 times – and 23 of those at least were in the movie theatre – totally not exaggerating. Howard’s End rocks in the way the only British reserved romance can.

Favorite romantic movie is a tough one… I’d probably have to say Anne of Avonlea, even though it’s not exactly all a romance, that is one underlying theme through the entire 3.5 hours. :)

How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. I love that movie. I wish I could watch it again but I loaned it to my Mother-In-Law several years ago and she lost it. It’s my wishful thinking that she will replace it that prevents me from buying it again.

Also, I looked at the Amazon.com description and noticed that it listed Lorna Doone. I got so excited because my grandmother loved that movie and used to make me watch it every time I visited her. Pick me! I just finished reading all of Jane Austens’ novels, with the exception of Sandition… I gave it up after I dropped the BORROWED book in the toilet… I am 8.5 months pregnant and have the “dropsies.” My new goal is to watch all the movies while I am on maternity leave because my hormones won’t be messed up enough.. I need some classic romance to push me over the edge.

Well, with 370 of us entered, the odds are not in my favor. But I’ll throw my hat in the ring anyway (ever wonder where that phrase came from? Yeah, me neither).
And my favorite romantic movie isn’t really a love story. If you haven’t seen the movie “Evening” I would strongly encourage you to do so… with a couple of women friends (or relatives) and a good size box of tissues… it is a great woman bonding film (with some romance in it).
Oh I love Jane Austen. In fact Becoming Jane is one of my latest romantic favs! I also love Moulin Rouge and Last of the Mohicans – not traditional romances but wonderful all the same!

I actually DVR’ed this entire series and would really love to own the set. And of course, Pretty Woman is the best classic love story of all times.
I love so many of them. It’s hard to pick. Return To Me, You’ve Got Mail, and Anne of Green Gables, While You Were Sleeping are just a few.

Hey there Boomama! From One Mama to Another… I’m a High School Graduate Mama by the way. Picked up the invitations today and let me tell you…(waxing nostalgic)… Oh the contest! Yes, well, I am not entering ME! I am entering my High School Senior – Brittany. She is graduating in a few short weeks from high school though her courses have been finished since February. She wrote her research paper on Charlotte Bronte and loves all the classics. She buys them and reads them and knows all the titles written by specific authors.
