So. I was just thinking. It’s been absolutely gorgeous here in Alabama today, and I am of the firm belief that springtime begs for great music to go with it.
Which made me think of my family’s favorite new musical treasure.
And I thought some of you might like to win one.
I mean, you can’t actually win Dave Barnes.
His family would probably object to that. Since I’m assuming that they enjoy having him around and all.
Anyway, I thought it might be fun to give away five copies of his latest CD, Stories To Tell. Why five? I have no idea. It just sounds right, I guess. It certainly sounds better than giving away four CDs. Four just sounds so, I don’t know, even.
I’ll leave this post open for 24 hours, and when the 24 hours is over. I’ll draw for five (NOT FOUR!) winners.

I’d love this CD. My mom was convinced I was a boy, so she didn’t even pick a girl name. My grandmother named me Rebecca while my mom was still recovering and my dad didn’t know what to put on the birth certficate. Thankfully I didn’t end up with something epically horrific.
Oh heavens, I listened to a sampling of his music on iTunes after you raving about him and LOVED it!! Was waiting until Friday (payday!) to download the album!! :)
Hooray for new spring music! I always make new iTunes playlists for each season. It’s just necessary, you know?
My dad wanted to name me, Abigail, after his grandma, but my mom vetoed that idea. I got stuck with Michelle, instead. Which, as a child of the 70’s, was the name of every third girl in school. I spent my all my school years as, Michelle M. Just one of many. I SO could have been an Abby. I would’ve rocked that name!
P.S. My middle name is, Lee, btw. Don’t even get me started on that particular lament, though. You’ll never hear the end of it. ;)

I hope you don’t pick me, because I already have this CD, and it is a DELIGHT! I first heard/met Dave Barnes at a sorority outing in San Antonio. The girls in charge hired him as the entertainment and by the end of the night everyone had vowed to find a man JUST LIKE HIM to marry….talented, funny, grammatically correct.
And in case you wondered I was supposed to be named Kathryn, but as there were already two in the family, Erin was chosen in it’s place. My mom says it’s because it means “peace”. My dad says it’s because Erin from The Waltons was very pretty, and Captain Hunnicut’s daughter from MASH was named Erin. I come from a rich heritage of TV.

I have never commented before but I love reading your blog. I also have not ever heard any music by Dave Barnes and I would love to start.
I was almost a Samantha, but ended up being Lacey. Since Samantha would have been in honor of my grandfather, I think I would prefer it to this day! But, oh well, Lacey’s can eat fried chicken just as well as Samantha’s (and I’m with you – I’d love to share some!).
